Own House

Ongoing transformation and addition to an allotment hut – this house is my own. The house reuses original point foundations and the existing roof. Originally only used during summer, the house build in 1946 had no insulation which is added on top of the original – together with a new asphalt roofing. The cheapest possible materials is used; plywood, asphalt roofing and recycled doors and windows. Floors are epoxy painted chipboards. The exterior plywood is burned, a technique seen in Japan – which is a natural way to protect wood against damp, insects and mould. The bathroom is claded with burned laquered plywood.
